The following suggested installation meets the BAL (Bushfire Attack Level)
This wall can now be considered as an end wall where no lapping of top hats is required. At worst using thicker gauge top hats at reduced length or only adding screw plates (see diagram below, on left) fixes this problem, as an alternative measure.
